Your Top 10 Questions ANSWERED about the Yoga Retreat to Costa Rica in February

So, you’ve been thinking about going to Costa Rica with Rebecca on her yoga retreat, but have a few questions. Read below to get all your questions answered.

ONE SPOT LEFT! Email Rebecca to reserve your spot.

1. When is the retreat?

Our retreat begins Sunday February 27th and ends Saturday March 5th. It is at Horizon Ocean View Hotel in Santa Teresa on the Nicoya Peninsula of Costa Rica on the Pacific Ocean.

2. What do I need to enter Costa Rica?

All you need is your vaccination card and your passport.

3. How much is it?

For your own private room, it’s $2550. That includes your accommodations, yoga and breakfast every day, a tropical fruit smoothie in the afternoon, three group dinners and one adventurous group excursion like snorkeling to Tortuga Island, sunset stand-up-paddle tour or a nature tour through the private reserve at Curu. It’s $2250 if you want to share a room with a friend.

4. What’s the hotel like?

Horizons is small family-owned and operated hotel nestled in the hilltop amongst lush tropical gardens overlooking a 180 degree view of the glittering Pacific Ocean. Your room is a five minute walk to miles of sandy beaches. Their restaurant, the “Tea House” is open for breakfast and lunch daily and the yoga deck where we practice is at the very top of the hill where you get the best view of sunsets that splash the sky with reds, oranges and purples every night. Everything is outdoors in open air environments, except your villa which can be closed with air conditioning.

5. What’s the weather going to be like?

Hot and sunny every day. Highs in the 90’s and lows in the 70’s are typical this time of year. It’s the middle of the dry season, so chance of rain is almost nil.

6. What kind of yoga is it?

Rebecca Bly yoga of course! Our theme is “Brave Beyond The Mat” this year because after the last two years we’ve had, it’s time to ignite your courage again, get back out into that world and keep living. Since it’s your vacation, you can expect yoga that just feels good on your body – soothing, flowing, relaxing and deeply rejuvenating.

7. What else is there to do?

So much! Surf, snorkel, stand up paddle board, horse back ride, explore the tide pools, walk miles of beaches, rent ATV’s and ride through the countryside, take a fishing tour, take a day trip to Isla Tortuga, hike to waterfalls, get massages, nap, relax in a hammock, read a book, swim in the ocean, dip in the pool, drink tropical smoothies, catch a fire dance show, have a crisp refreshing glass of wine from Tipsy and watch the sunset.

8. How’s the food?

The hotel is the best spot for breakfast and lunch in town. Everything is made with love by the owners themselves and all the produce is fresh and local. The local restaurants have a very wide variety of international options and I only recommend the best places. Every year my guests report they are pleasantly surprised by how great the food is.

9. What’s the town like?

This town is very “off the grid”. Your room is about a 5-minute walk to stunning beaches that stretch for miles and a variety of charming shops and restaurants. You’ll find being here quite a wild experience, seeing monkeys and iguanas along the road, giving you the feeling of really being away, out in the open and immersed in nature.

10. How’s COVID in Costa Rica?

All of our activities and meals are outdoors. Social distancing and masks are in use indoors. The only time you’ll be indoors is in your own private room (unless you choose to visit the supermarket, the pharmacy or shops which are enclosed).

Costa Rica has reported the following data the last week of January:
72% of the population is fully vaccinated
42 active cases were reported as of 2/7/2022 in the district where our retreat is being held.

Tests are required to re-enter the US. Testing is easy – the medic comes to the hotel and tests you there. We set this up for you.

11. Will it be crowded?

This is NOT the Jersey shore. The beaches are wide open spaces. The activities will be just for our group. And your hotel is reserved just for our group. YES, you should practice social distancing at the grocery store, other restaurants and the pharmacy. But our group will just be 8-10 people.

12. How do I get there?

Take a plan to San Jose the capital of Costa Rica. And then take a domestic flight for 20 minutes to the local airport. From there it is a 40 minute taxi ride to your hotel.

13. How do I sign up?

THERE IS ONLY ONE SPACE LEFT. EMAIL REBECCA TO RESERVE.

I’ll take really good care of you and help you every step of the way from booking your travel, knowing what to pack, to making the most out of your much deserved time off with an unforgettable adventure vacation experience.
